1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of our website and your booking of Motet for events and performances. By using this website and/or booking our services, you accept these terms and conditions in full. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website or book our services.

2. Booking Process

When you submit a booking inquiry through our website:

  • Your inquiry does not constitute a confirmed booking
  • We will respond to confirm availability and provide a formal quotation
  • A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a signed contract and deposit payment
  • All bookings are subject to availability
  • We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion

3. Payment Terms

The following payment terms apply to all bookings:

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking date
  • The deposit amount will be specified in your quotation
  • The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the event date
  • Payment can be made by bank transfer or other agreed methods
  • Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking

4. Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your booking:

  • The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances
  • Cancellations made more than 60 days before the event: deposit only is forfeited
  • Cancellations made 30-60 days before the event: 50% of the total fee is payable
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the event: 100% of the total fee is payable
  • All cancellations must be made in writing

5. Event Requirements

The client agrees to provide:

  • A suitable performance space of adequate size for the band
  • Access to mains electricity (13 amp power sockets)
  • Secure parking facilities for band members
  • A private area for the band to store equipment and take breaks
  • Refreshments for band members during the performance
  • Safe and clear access routes for loading and unloading equipment

6. Performance Details

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Standard performance sets are as specified in your booking confirmation
  • We require adequate time for setup and soundcheck before the performance
  • The band reserves the right to take reasonable breaks during performances
  • Background music can be provided during breaks if requested in advance
  • Specific song requests should be communicated at least 4 weeks before the event

7. Force Majeure

Motet shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure is as a result of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, accident, breakdown of equipment, fire, flood, storm, pandemic, or serious illness of band members. In such circumstances, we will endeavor to provide a suitable alternative solution where possible.

8. Liability

Motet carries public liability insurance for all performances. However:

  • We are not liable for damage to equipment caused by the venue or third parties
  • The client is responsible for the safety of guests at their event
  • We accept no liability for any indirect or consequential losses
  • Our total liability is limited to the total fee paid for the booking

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, videos, and audio recordings, is the property of Motet or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our express written permission. Motet retains the right to use photographs and recordings from events for promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Changes to Performance

While we make every effort to maintain a consistent lineup, Motet reserves the right to substitute band members with musicians of equivalent or superior ability if necessary. We will notify you of any significant changes to the lineup as soon as possible.

11. Website Use

When using this website, you agree to:

  • Not use the website in any way that causes damage to the website or impairment of availability or accessibility
  • Not use the website in any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful manner
  • Not use the website for any purpose other than making legitimate booking inquiries
  • Not collect data from this website for commercial purposes

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
